Willoughby Family Fun BBQ

Celebrate nature with the whole family at Willoughby Nature Reserve! Join Ontario Nature staff in celebrating pollinators with a local foods Bee-BBQ, nature hike, crafts, games, and more!

Explore nature with new eyes on a kid-friendly guided trail hike. You can see a beautiful cold water creek, old-growth deciduous forest, and tons of cool species!

Talk to experts about welcoming wildlife to your own backyard and great ways to support nature in the community. Kids of all ages can decorate bumblebee wings, join bee relays, and learn about the amazing world of pollinators.

Menu includes basic BBQ fare sourced locally, with fresh fruits and other bee-pollinated delicacies of the season.

Directions: The reserve is located five kilometres south of Caledon Village. From Highway 10, take the Grange Sideroad northeast to Kennedy Road. On Kennedy Road, make a left turn. The property, on the west side of Kennedy Road, will be recognizable by the coniferous plantations along the fence and an Ontario Nature reserve sign. A hiking trail, marked by blue signs, begins at the entrance. The houses near Highway 10 are occupied; so please respect the residents’ privacy. For instructions on accessing the nature reserve, please contact Ontario Nature at info@ontarionature.org.

More Information: Please wear long pants and closed toed shoes. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and re-fillable waterbottle. Food and refreshments will be provided.
